The Wufong Project is a great success do to the hard work and dedication from the Volunteers.  These volunteers are full of passion and creativity.  This project is a great example of Teamwork.  If we all work together great things will happen.  Please take the time to get to know these beautiful people from all over the world.  Enjoy!

TANYA GOLOVIZNINA譚雅 Main interest in my creative works are people: individuals and society – and an interaction in between. Received MFA at National Academy of Fine Arts and Pro Arte Institute in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Have had exhibited paintings, drawings, video and audio installations since 1994 in Russia, Moscow and St.Petersburg, Vienna, Austria; Kirkenes, Norway; CITTADELARTE, Biella, Italy and Taiwan, Taipei, Hualien, Taichung, Chia-Yi, Lugang.
Recently work as a concept designer at Gamania, Taipei, Taiwan.

Award winning photographer Steven Vigar was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where he studied photography at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is a photo journalist for the Taipei Times and is a regular contributor for the Firstlight Associated Photographers. Currently Steven is traveling Taiwan, Asia and beyond working freelance for several publications. Vigar’s most recent work can be found in Uncut, Up Against The Wall Asia, Adbusters, JPG, Taiwan Photographers, BUNK, Taiwan Nights, Tiger Airlines and Waakao (where he was voted Taiwan’s top photographer in 2009 and 2010). Vigar specializes in documentary, travel and portraiture. He is available for editorial, commercial and advertising work.

Jon Burke (白炯涵)  A documentation editor and corporate communication trainer, Jon is currently studying a PhD in industrial management at NTUST (臺灣科技大學). Jon is from Australia, where he first took up photography as a hobby around 15 years ago, along with hiking. He has now lived in Taiwan for seven years, has permanent residency, and loves capturing Taiwan’s people, culture, and history on camera.

Tobie Openshaw is a South African-born photographer/videographer who has been working in video and photography for 20 years. He often shoots video for TV channels like National Geographic, Discovery, BBC 4 and Al Jazeera English. He has collaborated on and mentored several documentary film projects, such as Kloie Picot’s “Shots that Bind: Palestinian Photojournalists in Nablus” which won Best Documentary Cinematography at the New York Independent Film And Video Festival. Tobie is best-known for his extensive documenting of the “betelnut beauty” culture of Taiwan, with photo exhibitions and publications spanning 8 years. He has appeared on many TV programs locally and internationally as an expert on the subject.Tobie likes to explore the many possibilities for social change and creative collaboration offered by social media, particularly using Facebook as a tool for promoting subjects as diverse as local photographers, minority rights, animal rescue, aboriginal culture, and HIV awareness.

Nick Kembel was born and raised in the Canadian prairies, and has spent the last decade traveling to over 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Central America, and the Middle East. He has resided in Taiwan for three years, where he teaches English, produces educational videos, and is the author of “Taiwan from the Eyes of a Foreigner” (“老外愛台灣”), an account of his experience of Taiwan, which includes photography, poetry, illustrations, and is presented in English and Chinese.

Kloie Picot is a self-taught, award winning photographer and video filmmaker currently based in Taiwan. Kloie has lived and worked extensively in The Middle East, Central Asia, and The Far East. Ms. Picot specializes in documenting conflicts, critical social issues, cultural events, religions, and human rights around the world. It is Kloies dream to return to the Middle East to work with Iraqi and Palestinian refugees by teaching, promoting and engaging them in self-sustaining skills. To view Kloies work please visit

Garret Clarke is from Southern California. He fell in love with photography in high school and has since been traveling the globe taking pictures. He studied international economics and Spanish language and literature both in California and in Spain. He lived a year in near homeless demise in Madrid and found refuge in the delights of photography. He is currently living in Taiwan making a name for himself as a premier documentary, lifestyle, anything you throw at him photographer. He has been published in Digital Photographer Magazine, IEEE Spectrum, Korea POP, JPG magazine, Xpat magazine, Everywheremag, and the China Post. Jeff Evans’interest in taking pictures began after taking a photo class while traveling in Australia. Since then, photography has become his way of exploring the relationship between reality, memory, and fantasy. Digital manipulation, whether subtle or drastic, is increasingly playing a role in his work. In addition to portraying the spirit of places and people around the world, he is also interested in being part of the rapidly evolving relationship between art and technology. After graduating with an architecture degree from Montana State University, he left Montana to travel and take photos before settling in Taiwan to teach English and immerse himself into a new environment. Jeff plans on exploring many more corners of the world in the years to come. You can see his photos at

Felicia Rodrigues comes from the great city of Mississauga, Ontario. She graduation with a B.A in British Literature of the 18th century. She continued her studies in cultural literature and philosophy.Felicia was the art director for Peace Fest, an event to help raise awareness and money for Aborigines in Hsinchu of 2010. She’s also one of the organizer’s and founder’s of Exposure. An event that showcases the skills of 28 artists in Taiwan.  She has a keen interest to travel the world and absorb whatever knowledge surrounds her. A goal in her life is to influence and help children open their minds to the infinite opportunities that a wait them. Felicia is also an aspiring artist that takes her twist on life and slathers it onto sheets of paper.She believes to experience is to learn. Life is a boundless journey of knowledge.

Shannon Mary is a recent graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Canada where she received a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Business Administration with a special interest in Asian Philosophy. She moved to Taiwan to pursue a career in Sales and Marketing, but has since switched to teaching English and is enjoying almost every minute of it. Having had an interest in photography for most of her life, Shannon was inspired to start taking pictures a few months ago after shadowing a photo shoot in the mountains with one of her friends. Since then she has been experimenting with a simple snap and shoot and has developed an interest in capturing facial expression and human emotion. She is looking forward to continuing to improve her skills and develop her new hobby.

Stuart Wilson is a DJ, Music Producer, Fire Dancer, Teacher, African Drummer and Painter specializing in Ultra Violet Paintings originally from Cape Town, South Africa. Performing under the stage name: Infinite Freefall he is based in Taiwan and over the past few years he has performed at shows, parties and events both in Taiwan and overseas. After Graduating with a Bachelor or Law BA(LLB) from U.C.T in 2003 he moved to Taiwan to explore foreign lands and cultures, study foreign languages and develop his artistic potential. Currently residing in Hsinchu, Taiwan, he is available for shows, parties, events, and private classes. Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Kelly Harding is a 22 year old South African.  She received her Bachelors in Law, Politics and French from the University of Stellenbosch.  She currently is teaching English & selling art in Taiwan. Her artwork is almost exclusively in oils – portraits, but she always tries to make them interesting.  She really enjoys and particularly loves painting people from Africa, her home.  She won the ” Most Promising Young Artist Award” at Cornwall College (2007).  Kelly sees art as her passion and is her favorite way to relax.

Leanie is a South African living in Taiwan now for the past 8 years. During her childhood she preferred to do things on her own and became interested in art. She was often reprimanded for drawing on walls until her family decided she would be interested in art lessons. Her interest in art continued throughout high school.  She completed a B. tech degree in fine and applied arts at Tshwane University of technology in 2003 majoring in fine art drawing. She taught arts and culture at a high school before deciding to take up on travelling. Her fascination with Asian culture influenced by her high school friends prompted her to travel to Asia. She has taken up various hobbies such as photography and more recently- a metal arts class. Over the years she has done some volunteering for various organizations and extended her interest to volunteer for this group. Website:

 Daisy Lin is a born-again activist raised in Goleta the Good Land located in sunny California. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she worked mercilessly in a variety of roles encapsulating global business development, branding, PR, marketing, and executing multi-city events from Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Manila, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, to Sydney, New York, and Los Angeles. Via proactivism hub Handful of Sapphires she now facilitates volunteer coordination and communication services for non-profit and grassroots organizations. Daisy dreams of a new world order in which sustainable living and compassion comes before profits.  She attempts to accomplish the task of living life accordingly to her values each and every day from her humble abode in Taipei, Taiwan.

Jason Huang is a recent graduate of Art Center in sunny Pasadena, California, where he studies graphic design. He came back to Taiwan to reconnect with his roots and gain a new perspective on art, life, and culture. His love for stories drives him toward new experiences and interactions, which he often documents with his camera or trusty sketchbook. Outside of his usual nine to five, he can be found wandering the streets and alleys of Taipei, or seated somewhere absorbed in his thoughts.

Verity Mackintosh – Freelance Photographer + TV Documentary Producer.  Verity was born and raised in Aotearoa, New Zealand where she studied film, television, media and photography. Verity freelances for several publications and also contributes to private collections in NZ and Overseas. She specializes in a portrait, documentary and fine art photography. Verity’s TV and Film career has received many notable awards in NZ TV and media industry and International film festivals.
